Question:

2000 Chevy S10 brake problems.?

I bought a 2000 s10 and the guy put 2 new brake lines a new booster and master cylinder on he truck. he said the truck had no brakes im assuming because the brakes lines were busted. the truck barley stops.he told me the truck needed to be bleed. i bought the truck and took it to my mechanic and he bleed all four wheels and the truck is still doing the same i took it to another mechanic and he did the same and still no results when i drive the truck sometimes when i stop the brake pedal jumps up and pushes my foot outwards real hard and the truck just rolls forward and the the pedal goes all the way down and the truck barley stops again. i just put 2 new calipers on the front and they seemed to have gotten a little better. im trying to figure out what it is so i dont spend a ton at the dealership.

Answer:

Shame on the mechanics who did the previous repairs. You can tell they didn't do a road test prior to and after their fix. Have this truck towed to the shop before you attempt to drive on the street. Tell your story to the shop and let them do the inspection on what is needed to correct the problem. After the repairs are completed, have road tested for 10 miles or more in stop and go traffic as well as open road driving to be sure this took care of the problem. Record the mileage on leaving and when picking up.
It is plain and simple you have air in the brake system. Whoever put he brakes and all other parts on and the bicycle mekaniks that bled the brakes had no clue as to what they were doing. You need a brake specialty shop not a dealer. Tell them exactly what was replaced as master cylinder replacement needs special attention when bleeding.
