I took my rear axle apart but I can‘t get the axles to go in far enough to remove the c-clips.I‘m thinking my rods are bent.I also took the ABS sensors off.what‘s wrong?
OK this is easy the numbers the old way of describing tire sizes is the 3.00-17 and that means the tire has a cross section of 3 inches and is on a 17 inch rim . now the New way of describing tires is in metric and in millimeters. So to get a replacement tire for you bike take the 3.00 inch size and multiply by 25.4 that equals 76mm all the English measured tires are 80% tires meaning that the sidewall heigth is 80% of the cross section of the tire . so the metric conversion of your tire would be 80/80/17 as for a larger size on the rear compared to the front tire. look in your owners manual or on the sticker on the bike for the proper sizing for front and rear . there are some older bikes that had the same size tire on the front and rear . my 72 Moto Guzzi has the same size front and rear , so its not unusual . as for the Interior tire or tube the convention is to have it slightly smaller than the tire size since it is inside the tire . you can also look on the tube and it should say what range of tire it was designed for. hope this helps.
