Question:

are there any SD card readers that can corrupt or erase SD Cards unexpectantly?

I do want to spend no more than $15 buying a SD CARD READER. I am afraid that some may just eat up my card all of a sudden are there cases like that? I have a 2gb SD Card.any recommendation?

Answer:

so far i have never heard any. as long as you follow the instructions given, your card should be safe.
i don think so. find sthg tat's recommended by user don buy sthg bcoz it's cheap go for quality
try not to remove your card while reading or writing. $15 is good enough to get a SD card reader.
Ditto. I use a $15 all-in-one card reader for both CF and SD cards. Never had a problem.
technically they describe not to remove the card while the device is reading or writing. Otherwise all other card readers should not give you trouble. for 15-20 dollars you may even be able to find a 6 or more card reader.
