Question:

Auto Zone Diagnosis Receipt?

My check engine light came on, so I went to auto zone to have it checked. The guy said I had a small leak. He said to check certain things but I forgot most of them. I have been asking on yahoo but a few people were asking for the code. I dont think I have it but I do have the receipt. Not sure what it means though. Here it is:TROUBLESHOOTING P0456Definition: EVAP small leak detectedExplanation:The ECM has detected a large leak in the EVAP system during a system monitor test.Probable Causes:1. Defective, loose or missing fuel cap2. EVAP canister broke, hose cracked or not connected3. Purge or ven solenoid defective4. Vacuum leak at engineCan you please tell me what the terms EVAP, CVM means? Also, how/where do I check for the things listed. Im not engine savvy, so I dont know where the evap hose/canister is.

Answer:

There is no easy way to answer this question. Atleast for me. Make sure you gas cap is tight. Then make sure all vacuum hoses are attached. I would say if thats not the case take it to a proffesional. I think the rest would be to complicated for some one with no experience with cars Im didnt mean that in a harsh way. Sorry
This Site Might Help You. RE: lift kit or suspension upgrade? for honda passport.? I have a 2000 honda passport. My current suspension is way too soft! off-road or just street driving. I think that I just need to replace the suspension. That being the case, I have wanted to lift my truck for a while but haven't. Would a lift cost a lot more, or should I just spend some.
My shop designed and holds a patent for a lift kit for Honda Passports, and several other small SUV's that use the same platform. We do a 1 1/2, a 2 and a 3 inch lift. You don't want to go over 3 inches as anything over 3 inches entales alot more work, and cost, plus it's not really safe to go higher on a small SUV. Our complete kit which includes new springs, trailing arms, shocks, bushings, and steering stablizer is $1,195.00. To install it in our shop runs an average of $600.00. We're in Georgia, about 50 miles NE of Atlanta.
EVAP - Emissions Vapor. ECM - Electronic control module (aka the computer) Let me start by saying this is an emissions issue. The car may very well run just fine. These are not the easiest types of codes to repair. even for a qualified mechanic. My suggestion. to be honest. unless the car is running rough, or you start burning a lot of fuel (due to the PC trim) I wouldnt worry about it. That or take it in. if you do not know what a EVAP can is (Most vehicles it looks just like a soup can) then you'll never get this. run it down the road, or run it to your mechanic. Good Luck!
