I am going to replace our boiler fuel. now it is running with biomass. So i have to option. one is installing a new biomass boiler other thing is installing a gasifier and replacing only the burner. What should i select? What are the benifits of each other?
There are so many different gasification technologies, and so many different biomass combustion systems, and they vary so much based on size and fuel, that is really tricky to address your specific application. Instead of asking on here, please do a web search on words like biomass gasification and biomass combustion and benefits of gasification. You'll get a much more complete answer, and you can skip over the stuff that isn't relevent to your application. Differences between the two technologies include the amount and type of pollutants that are created (gasifiers can do a better job with NOx than most traditional boilers), the moisture content of the fuel that can be used (some types of traditional boilers can take higher moisture content fuel), the size of the equipment, and the cost of the equipment. Good luck.
