I just hung my tv on the wall and replaced the video and audio cables with an hdmi cable. Now the cable remote no longer controls the TV volume and I have to use the original TV remote to control volume. I have checked all the settings and I cannot figure it out. Does anyone have a solution here other than calling the cable company and getting the run around?
The cable remote likely controlled the analog audio out on the box. It has no such control over digital out, which HDMI is. You need to re-program the remote to control the TV, including volume.
