I have a 2007 Chevy Aveo5. In the last year I have owned it the water pump, coolant hoses, timing belt, and throttle body have been replaced. Sometimes on start up it idles rough until you start driving. Today when driving the check engine light starting blinking. I pulled over immediately and turned the car off. I decided to see if the light would still be there when I turned it back on and it wasn‘t so I drove it slowly back home. Any ideas or suggestions on what could be wrong and how to correct the problem are greatly appreciated.
Hello Desirae, I apologize that you are experiencing issues with your Chevrolet Aveo. I did some research in your owner’s manual and this is what it says regarding a blinking check engine light on page 169: “Light Flashing — A misfire condition has been detected. A misfire increases vehicle emissions and may damage the emission control system on your vehicle. Diagnosis and service may be required.” I would suggest taking your vehicle to your local Chevrolet dealer regarding this situation. If you would like my assistance in working with the dealership, please email me your name, contact info, VIN, mileage, and dealership you would like to work with. If you need help locating a dealership, I would be happy to help you in that regard as well. When you send your email, please include “ATTN GREG” in the subject line so it gets delivered straight to me. Thank you very much for your time. Gregory W. GM Customer Care
