can anyone name (all) the metal gear solid ps2 games? & how many there are?
Early Metal, Glam Metal, Shock Rock and Progressive Metal branched off a complete table of different styles. One of them being Punk Rock. Which started Hardcore. Hardcore + Death Metal = Metalcore Metalcore + Black Metal = Grindcore Not that i want to admit that they are Metal but they are from the roots. Its like having a gay brother. You have one but you dont want to be open about it.... LOL
hardcore is at least a close relative of metal, but other forms of music like Jazz and Folk music get mixed in and no one says it's not metal, so you can't say deathcore/metalcore isn't metal and not be a hypocrite.
That mainly depends on who you ask. Personally, I consider most the Metalcore bands such as Killswitch Engage and Time of Grace to be Metal. Others maybe not. I think Deathcore would be, I haven't really listened to any of it though.
Think of this example: There are many non-metal genres mixed with metal. Such as Industrial Metal, Black Metal/Ambient, Folk Metal, Post-Rock/Metal, and so on. Everyone considers these bands metal and opens them with welcome arms as apart of the metal scene. The same people often won't do the same for deathcore or metalcore. The reason is not because all the other hybrid bands always sound heavier or more metallic, but because death/metal core are looked down on for their sense of dress/aesthetics and personality types of their fans. I think death/metal core can be metal, though mostly with deathcore. Some bands are, then again some are indeed closer to hardcore. or modern rock, and are falsely tagged metalcore, like with Bullet For My Valentine. Once again, they are tagged that because of their aesthetic choices/fashion/etc
Deathcore is metal, as it is a fusion of death metal, hardcore punk and metalcore; metalcore is a fusion of extreme metal and hardcore punk.
