Can i convert a road bike wheel to a track wheel?

Answer:

a chum and that i by possibility ended up interior the midsection of a race some years in the past (we did no longer recognize there became a race occurring the place we desperate to trip.) We have been given exceeded and dropped by applying an old dude on a fastened kit song bike, who became partaking interior the race. in accordance with that, and the fact i've got considered different men driving song motorcycles around city in some circumstances, i'd say definite.
Yes. Just swap out the hub. The only problem is that with a fixed gear wheel, it will usually add more stress to the rear wheel so you'll want at least a 32 hole rear wheel set up. You can run 24 spokes but do so at your own risk. This back wheel is only designed for 24 spokes. Even if you bought a 32 hole hub, the rim only holds 24. Sorry, but that's a fact.
That wheel has a FREEhub. It can't run fixed. The hub is also at the bottom end of Shimano's products. Even if you could convert it to fixed, the hub has a small flange which requires longer spokes (and this wheel only has 24). Fixed gear riding puts lots of stress on the rear wheel. A good fixed wheel will have a taller flange, shorter spokes (and more of them), and will be nearly dishless. Much stronger and more reliable than what you just bought. I'd return it and buy the right wheel.
