Question:

Can motorcycle tires cup in as little at 1 month / 300 miles light riding?

I recently borrowed a bike and upon return was charged for new tires. They claimed that I cupped them. I rode very little and low speeds.

Answer:

I would have to say Kyle Petty at Bristol ,so that I could ride around all day (Just like a Sunday drive in the country) And get to see all 42 of the other drivers racing past us several times during the race I wouldnt have to worry about going too fast with him cause he just rides around the track waving at all the fans anyway. Maybe I could end up on some home movies or even in a un-blurry picture on Yahoo sports page.
They can cup from a variety of reasons but have found low fork fluid in one fork, yes rear wheel alignment, if some one crashed the front end you can test the forks in the triple tree, hit a curb and bent the rim (usually in spoke rims), and bad underinflation, if the bike has bias ply tires (Harley, and some mainstream imports) then underinflation will go un-noticed. tell them you want to see the original paper work that shows the tires to be in good condition BEFORE you burowed it BTW how did some place lend you a bike thats a real trusting place unless thats why they lend bikes to get bogus fees later.
Tires can cup if your alignment is off, and motorcycles do need alignments. or if the shocks are bad and the tire skips causing scuffs which turn into cupping.
