Question:

can someone help me identify this part of my brake system that leaks?

I would like to know if anyone can identify the block that the brake lines hooks onto that is mounted by the coil spring housing. the structure has some lines coming out of it. one line to master cylinder, one line to each of the two calipers. 1993 ford ranger two wheel drive. Can anyone identify this part, and if so, where would I be able to find a replacement. It is necessary, for my breaks are leaking around this area.

Answer:

It depends on the person. I know that it took about a week before I started feeling better after starting an iron supplement.
It doesnt really have an official name, it's a brake line junction box where the brake lines are joined. If you are able to screw the lines out of the junction box, you can replace the box, if you can not screw them out, than you will have to replace that block and all the brake lines that tie into it.
It is just a brake junction block! It most likely looks something like the one in the link. If it were part of the ABS there would be wires going to it. It is not a proportioning valve because it connects both front calipers. Brake proportioning valves control brake bias front to rear on a single cylinder brake system. Almost every parts store will have replacements for this part, it is generic. The may just call it a brass tee adapter. Remember the one selected will have to have fittings that will match the brake lines on the Ranger. Also the problem may not be in the fitting, but in the way the flaired ends of the tube are sealing. Pipe dope, teflon tape will not help as the ends of the line are compression fit and provide the seal when done right.
I believe your talking about the proportioning valve, that might be a dealer only item but you can try a parts store, those rarely go bad, make sure it isn't one of the brake line fittings that go into the valve that's leaking.
