Question:

Can you help me change a tire?

Of course I don‘t have the tire yet, but IF I ever manage to get one I need to know what kind of bottle jack do I need for a 2000 Chevy Cavalier Coup. Why do I need a bottle jack? Well I am a girl and I need something that can lift a car. I have been through this before but I am trying to do it cheap this time so plz help me with the Bottle Jack.Thank you

Answer:

Probably too much for a beginner. Be sure to take a Motorcycle Foundation Safety Class. Enjoy riding whatever you decide to ride.
If you can afford a Confederate Hellcat then you can afford to smash it or to have someone teach you how to ride.
Im sorry did the Torque spec say 145 foot pounds? that is crazy from my perspective and 475 pounds is too heavy for a beginner although i think you can ride it.
Usually the car comes with a jack, bottle jacks work but can be dangerous if you do not block up or use a jack stand for safety sake. also if you change on the side of the road and the ground is soft the jack will sink in the ground a bit if you do not have a thick piece of plywood about 1 ft. square. If you do not have a jack you can get a cheap one at an auto wrecker off a junked car. Usually are scissor type jacks. check your owners manual on how top properly jack up your car. Get a friend or neighbor to show you how to safely change a tire. Is not hard, but you need to know how to do safely. Otherwise get road hazard insurance and call for help.
ALL cars COME with a JACK. A jack is the least of your worries. Any jack will life a car enough to be able to take off a tire. You have to understand where to place the jack and so forth, so the car doesn't roll or fall over on you and crush you. To change a tire you only have to lift a car like an inch off the ground.
