My 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix check engine light came on at about 93,000 miles. The code said P2440, so my mechanic replaced the air check valve the secondary air check valve. After replacing those parts my check engine light is still on. What could the problem be now?

Tyre pressures are normally given as a range rather than a single value. The front end is heavier when the car is empty, but passengers and stuff in the boot make the rear end heavier, hence the higher pressure limit on the back. The actual pressure you are supposed to use depends on how much weight you usually carry in the car. If it's just you, and nothing in the boot, use the lower figures. If eg. you are taking some friends to the airport it packed full of people and luggage, use the highest figures. If you normally carry two people or (like me) the boot is aways full of stuff, use somewhere in the middle - ie. my Mondeo has ranges of 30-35 for front, 30-40 for rear. I normally run at 32 34. Running slightly high of the minimum wont do any harm. it just means you are less likely to have the edges of the tyres wear out early as the centre of the tread is not held to the road hard enough. That was happening when I stuck to the minimum figures.
Time for a new car anyway ! I spent 200 ballons on my mercedes to get rid of a check engine light and it came on about 20 hours later and they refuse to fix it try that one !
