This is a great question. Many hospitals have departed from using latex gloves because of staff and patient allergies alike. They purchased large numbers of boxes of vinyl gloves. These are great for many uses and are much cheaper than Nitrile. It would be most appropriate for them to have both. However, in this era of cutbacks, this may or may not happenin all units. I normally carry some nitrile gloves in my pocket for my own personal use. I also keep some in my car. You may wish to just address your own safety, as I do.I simply consider myself more able to feel and perform well with the Nitrile variety. Best wishes.
