Question:

Dell charger playing up?

Hi, I have a dell xps1530 and recently the charger for it seems to be playing up. When I plug it in sometimes it acts as if I haven’t plugged it in (the green light doesn’t come on on the charger itself and when plugged into my laptop nothing happens). However if I unplug it at the mains and then try again a few times the light will come on and it will be back to working perfectly again until I unplug it again.I don’t see what the problem here could be?

Answer:

The wire on the charger might be faulty or your wall outlet does not have sufficient energy output. Or perhaps the pronged part of the charger connecting the plug to the adapter is loose - push it back in and make sure it is secure. -- Try plugging it into different outlets to see if one works consistently, then you know it's the outlet's fault. If you bend the wire while it's plugged in and the light goes off, then you know the wire has broken.
