Question:

disarming a malfunctioning car alarm?

Dead battery, how to disarm a malfunctioning car alarm?

Answer:

May sound a little bit gung ho but perhaps you should just go for it. As long as you are not causing any damage to the property and you leave it as found, no harm should arise, especially if it has indeed been abandoned by the owner. Also, you would only get into trouble for trespassing if the owner had given you a direction to leave the property, you refused this and the police were contacted. Good luck :)
Ceder wood/chips..or moth balls..but if you have children or pets I wouldn't use the moth balls.
