Question:

Do I have a slim chance or a fat chance at getting struck by lightning?

I just can't tell the difference.

Answer:

im not sure, it might have but there is very very little chance that it would.
A lot of people, especially nurses, have trouble with them. Just get some gloves that aren't latex. If your boss won't reimburse you for the cost of them it's still worth it to have a job. Once you stop wearing the latex your skin should clear up without having to go to the doctor.
A racing suit has a fire retardant, no need for it in a kart, or at least I've never seen one burst into flames and it's not required in pre tech, you will need a 2005 Snell approved helmet and a neck protector though, my suit is nothing more than jeans a leather jacket some cheap mechanic's gloves and hy top Chuck Taylor's, doesn't seem to keep me from running up front on race day.
