if the alarm works the same as the ihome with radio there should be a button that makes the alarm go on and off and an icon should show on the little screen that shows if the alarm will go off as buzzer, or ipod. to have the alarm wake u up with the ipod make sure the alarm setting is on and that the ipod icon is showing. not sure how the buttons are on it though and whenever you have your ipod docked its going to charge no matter what but it won't make any difference.
I have an Overhead Door garage opener (Screw Type). A few months back my door stops every foot or so when going up but going down was no problem. After reading few QA I realized that my Force settings were on the maximum low for both Up and DOWN. I left the DOWN setting low for safety (won't crush kids!), and increased the UP force ever slightly. I manage to increased it by only a quarter turn of the way and solved my problem that I have been procrastinating due to high cost of call in repair. Keep in mind that I have done all other checks like running motor disconnected. I checked all the cables, roller, and springs. I even grease the screw.
