A number of things cancause it, a loose or faulty gas cap, or other leaks in the EVAP system. o2 sensor failurethe list goes on and on
first retriev the trouble code. if you don't have a DRB,diagnostic readout box,try this a: set the parking brake and put in park/neutral 'depends wether you car is auto or manual. b: raise the engine speed to approximately 2500rpm slowly let the speed down to idle. cycle the air con system, briefly on and off if equiped. if automatic, shift to all the gaers then shift back to park, foot on the brake. c:to display code on the dashboard, turn ignition key on, off,on,off on.light will blink the # of d 1st digit then pause will blink the # of the second digit. ihave the trouble codes listings for dodge if you need help.
