Question:

Does Dupont kevlar in tires make them bulletproof?

If not are there any bulletproof tires?

Answer:

No But there is a tire called runflat. a gel inside the tire fills a hole when the tire is punctured and can drive up to 50 miles. But im pretty sure a bullet can make a big enough hole where it cant be filled.
No it does not. (the kevlar is around the circumference of the tire, not the side wall) There are no bullet-proof* tires yet, but there are ways of increasing their resistance. * bullet-proof is a poor term because there are many rounds (bullets) that can penetrate just about anything shy of an armored vehicle.
No and yes. Kevlar in itself is not bulletproof, anymore than a piece of lumber is a house. But Kevlar woven in certain ways and in certain layers can be bulletproof. The Kevlar used in tires is not used for its bullet-resisting qualities. It is used for other reasons. There are some bullet-resistant tires, and tires that run when flat. These tires are not worth the price for the average person, since they don't perform as well on the street as regular tires do. Also, the chances of having your tires shot out are pretty low, and insignificant. If someone is shooting your tires, you have a lot more to worry about than whether or not they are bulletproof.
