Does the wii wifi connector make the signal easier to find?

hi i have a wii and when i go to connect to the internet it says no access points were found but i can access my internet on the laptop i have i was wondering if the wii wifi connector make the signal strenght longer/bigger so i could access the signal that im not able to access now??? or does it just help u connest to ur rounter or something so once again what i need to know is i have internet on my laptop so if i am connected to my laptop internet and have the wii wifi card plugged in it will let me access the internet??? and if so i would be like 25 feet away or so will it put out a big enough signal for the wii to read it?.?

Yea it works more efficient with the wifi connector.
it's not a booster but it has a decent range, it's for if you don't have a router. I have a router, and still got it, it still has slight issues, but it works great.
