Question:

Driving under suspension?

I just got into trouble last night driving under suspension. I had my seat belt on i wasn‘t speeding. I don‘t think he really had the right to pull me over either, anyways he made me leave it there and he took me home I don‘t have any insurance on my car either so my ? is would it help me if I bought it and then went to court saying I have it now and would that prevent anything from happening. Or what could I do to help my situation. The court is set for Thursday on the 5th

Answer:

Driving while suspended, without insurance. You lost your privilege for a reason, yet you decided to drive anyway. Your going to get a heavy fine, possibly a habitual traffic offense, and loss of privilege for 1 year. Good luck trying to get insurance, you may not be able to afford it.
My understanding of your question You are contemplating contesting the validity of the stop? Basically, you want to argue, if the cop would not have stopped me, then he would've known that my license was suspended. Is that your argument? Well, don't know about other states but in California if a police officer runs your registration and you are the registered owner, your driver's license status can also be checked at the same time Regarding your questions about bringing the necessary documents to court. If you brought the documents to court showing proof AFTER the day you were cited for.you more than likely will still be finedDriving while DL is suspended and no insurance are heavy fines. I wish you luck
If you were driving under suspension . there is no keeping your license, it's already suspended! I don't see your situation improving . you are pretty much stuck! I doubt that any insurance company would write a policy for a driver under suspension . no chance of going to court with valid insurance. The officer does not need any reason to run your license plate, they can do it for the practice, or to break up a boring shift, or just because they want to. Some police departments use a license plate recognition system that automatically runs every license plate on the road near the unit. A hit from this system (caused by no insurance on the vehicle?) would be plenty reasonable suspicion to pull the car over! On Nov. 5th . your suspension period will probably be made longer, and you will have a couple of new fines to pay.
