My wipers have been freezing every morning lately. They are not freezing to the glass though because I can pull them away without issue. I hear a clicking sound when I turn them on, but they do not move at all. Later on in the day and if temps rise above freezing, they work fine without any type of issues. Last Friday, after going through a car wash, they worked fine after then as well. What can I do to keep them from freezing? Some sort of lubricate maybe? I‘ve had them checked at a mechanic‘s shop and they say nothing is wrong with them, just that they were freezing. Help.
Zinsco Breaker Replacement
if you shake your breaker and the lights flicker then make sure the wire is secure to that breaker and if it is then the breaker is degenerating and needs to be replace. a new breaker will work fine even if its not made by zinco so long as its designed to replace your old one.
tough one. The wipers are powered with an electric motor though a gearbox. You have water traped in your gearbox or motor that is not draining out. When it freezes the wipers don't work. You could have it drained but they would fill up again. (1) You could drill a hole to let the water drain out all the time. Unfortunately, water is still going to cause the unit to fail soon. Water was not meant to get in there and it will soon corrode, rust or short out. (2) You will then have to change the whole thing. (3) There may be a chance that you could still replace the seal that keeps the water out but only a someone with a lot of experience if it is going to work. Oil can't ever hurt and will prolong the life of the unit. I would do that anyway. (4) I would just use rain-X treatment and the defroster, or just park in garage. Most states require a safety test and windshield wipers are usually tested. Good luck. Keep up the research and you might find a cheaper solution. Check with the dealership. They are rediculously expensive but may prove worth it on certain things. For example, electronics specific to a certain make and model. Basically you have 4 options. Try them in order of cheapest to most expensive. Or he he, carry one of those gas station squeegees, roll down your window and be your own wiper.
get a set of winter wiper blades , they are covered with rubber so the snow won't freeze them, they cost more but are worth it. the guy at the car parts store will install them free .l
