a check engine light will not come on for that reason. If you want to do it anyway, there are engine treatments at local autoparts stores that work

I guess you will just have to wait for it to dry out. Try this, cover the boat put in a low wattage bulb,then wait for it to dry,get another F/G kit and it will fix your problem. Good luck.
There are many reasons the check engine light might come on. You could disconnect the battery for a few minutes, that will usually temporarily shut the light off, but chances are it will come back as the computer has detected a fault. The check engine light is mainly for emissions purposes, although if it is flashing, that means more serious engine conditions. That being said, if you reset the light and it comes back, but the vehicle is otherwise operating properly, I would just put a sticker over the light and call it good if you don't want to spend the money to have it looked at. Your fuel economy and emmisions are likely not going to be where they should be. You are wasting your time and money with fuel or oil additives. Oil and fuel manufacturers go to great lengths to put additives and detergents in their products, and you are not going to make them any better with additives.
do not wast your money on that stuff,remove negative batt cable 5-10min that will fix it
