Question:

Going to an outdoor concert tonight? What should I wear?

I'm going to the spring fever tour concert in Philly tonight. The bands playing are PTV, ATL, Mayday Parade, and YMAS. The concert is outside, and it's supposed to be like 37 degrees. What should I wear? It starts at 6:30, but the doors open at 5:30. It's a sold out show, so I'm assuming it's going to be pretty crowded. I'm going with 4 other friends. What should I bring? Like, should I bring a small purse or should I just stick my phone and money in my bra or something :P Also, what should I expect crowd-wise. I'm really tiny so I would be crushed in a mosh pit. How do I avoid those? Thanks!

Answer:

I am assuming all detectors are fully powered and are checked regularly for proper operation. Detectors can be stand alone like the ones in most homes where each detector operates independent of one another or they can be connected to a fire alarm system in which each detector has an address and is connected to a building wide fire alarm control panel. A disadvantage to a heat detector is it requires the temperature at it's location (typically ceiling) to reach a given point before they activate. If a fire breaks out at the furthest point away from a heat detector it may take several minutes of the fire burning before heat level at the ceiling at the detectors location reaches it's trigger point. By the time this happens much of a room maybe engulfed in flames before anyone is aware of it. For this reason heat detectors are typically used in machine rooms or mechanical rooms which typically have very little flammable material in them for detection of over heating machinery. There are two types of smoke detectors ionization and photoelectric. Ionization detectors respond more promptly to fires involving high flames, and photoelectric detectors alert home owners more quickly to slower-burning, smoldering fires. One major disadvantage are false alarms due to excessive dust, steam or even kitchen smoke. For instance if you burn some toast, you may find your smoke detector going off for several minutes until the room clears out.
