For Fire Red, I would go for Team 2. Although Vileplume is slightly faster than Venasaur, Venasaur is much better choice because its defense capabilities is much better. It suits better as a tank. For the fire type, Arcanine all the way. Water - Couldn't pick a better pokemon. Electric - Well, electric types aren't my favorite, but Pikachu is a decent Special Attacker (but, Raichu is better obviously). Flying - Don't really have much of a choice. Normal - Snorlax is your best bet. Curse + Body Slam/Return Win. Platinum - Neither. Grass Type - Roserade. Its fast and with Sleep Power, it can set up Toxic Spikes like no tomorrow. Also, its special attack is pretty good too making Energy ball (or any other grass move) really powerful. Water - I would actually go with Empoleon. Why you say? Well, depending on your team he can be set up differently. If you need a physical fighter, Aqua Jet, Earthquake, Sword Dance and Substitute is a good choice (item is Salac Berry). If you need a special attacker, I would go for Surf, Ice Beam, Substitute, and Agility (Item is Petaya berry). If you get the chance to set up before you use your berry, the better. If not, you don't have much of a choice. Electric - You and your Pikachu. I prefer Magnezone. Not only is it strong, it locks in Steel types from ever escaping. Since there are no steel/ground pokemon (yet), Thunderbolt should clear out anything. If not, Heat Wave is a next possibility (actually a must). Flying - Well, yea or Gliscor. For your team, it should definitely be a tank - Full out defensive build, but a passer (Baton Pass + Rock Polish or Sword Dance). As your for Random, Fighting/Steel? There is only one pokemon with that (for not). Anyway, its a good pokemon, but with your current one, I think a Special Defense Wall is a better choice. Hope this helped! ~JK
