Question:

hand mangled at work in machinery. should i sue and if i do, should i continue working there?

have trouble doing anything as i injured my right hand an i'm right handed and live alone.

Answer:

I would if you do not have workers comp. I would not work there anymore if you can find a better jod, where your hand is safer.
Sue only if the company was in some way neglegent.
I don't understand why you would ask such a question here in yahoo. This requires an attorney who is familiar with liability law, the facts of the event, and what the history is of that company relative to accidents.
You should be getting Workman's comp. Its an injury that happened at work, regardless whether it was from their negligence or not. If you sue and still wanna work there, they cannot fire you. At least, they would have to come up with some other reason for the dismissal but if you have been there for yrs and suddenly they fire you after you have filed suit, its seems pretty obvious. I would certainly consult an attorney.
If you were injured on the job the state workers compensation commision has rules and regulations that govern disability ratings and monetary amounts of compensation for each disability... many states (texas is the worst) laws are designed to protect the insurance companies and to screw the injured worker... you should definitely consult an attorney.
