Question:

Have you checked the batteries in your smoke detector?

With the cooler weather, and using heat sources, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Answer:

well, that one is very easy, replace the alarm system in it. most new cars have a thief deturant build into your car to stop theives from stealing it. or you might want to check with a Acura dealership in your area and see what they say
Finish growing first. I don't know about New York, but all 3 of my brother's are in the Baltimore city fire department. I would guess there are a lot of similarities. The amount of equipment you have to carry, and the possibility of having to pull people out of fires makes this a very physical job. With a 92 average you should do fine on the test, but competition can still be tough for these jobs. As far as a 4 year college degree is concerned, it is not necessary for this line of work. There are typically prescribed classes you have to take for things such as EMT. I would not get the degree first. I would get into the department first and work on a degree part-time. Good luck and if you do get in, always respect the danger the job presents.
Glass is highly refined. Blown glass has been around since the Ancient Romans, but they couldn't figure out how to make it super clear (it was always tinted a slight color). It took centuries for people to figure out the correct composition of sand, lime, and other things, so a lightning rod + sand will probably not make a clear blob of glass, much less a physically stable one.
