there has to have a sign or the curb has to be painted red with letting indicating it is a fire lane.
start talking and murmuring randome stuff like Emc2 and have beakers filled with water mixed with food coloring or have jars with fake eyes in them lol. or l ike a nose.
Check your city ordinances for fire lane definitions, but if the area is not marked either with signs or curb paint the ticket will not stand up in court. Go to court with a letter from the apartment, pictures of the lane, and a copy of the ordinance. Most likely the officer will not even show up, so you can beat this. I was a firefighter for 35 years and wrote hundreds of fire lane and fire hydrant tickets, but they had to be marked to be a violation.
