Question:

How can I stop my jaw from locking?

I've had this problem for the best part of a year now I think, but recently its got really, really bad. I'd always told myself not to panic, it'll just go away in a few days/weeks.Whenever I open my mouth wide to yawn or whenever I wear my tooth retainer (which isn't very often because my jaw hurst really bad. It's a viscious circle), my jaw locks open or kind of slides to the left to close again.I'm not sure what causes it, but could I be the way I sleep? I always sleep with only the top of my head above my ears on the pillow (it sounds wierd, but I think its comfy). I breathe through my mouth too, so my mouth is usually open and the jaw flops open and to the side slightly. Could this be making my jaw lock? How can I prevent my jaw from locking because its terrifying and painful! Thank you.

Answer:

I am so sorry that this happened to you. Have you all contacted the local Red Cross, I am sure that they would help you all. In my state the Red Cross provides food, money,a place to live, and so much more. also we have many places that will help us.
Yes it would be legal. It's not illegal now to use a fire hydrant in an emergency. (a hot day is not an emergency)
Shut down the system and unplug the mouse. Make sure all of the pins are present in the connector, then reconnect it if all of them are in there. Often times the gunk that builds up inside of a mouse can interfere with the electronics in a mouse. If the functionality is lost, and you're comfortable taking the mouse apart (usually just with a phillips screw driver) you can blow the gunk out from the inside of the mouse (or use compressed air). If that doesn't fix it, mice are generally inexpensive. They are still selling old serial connection mice online, so there's definitely one out there that you can use with your computer. Unless it's something obscene like a Commodore 64, there are tons of mice out there that you can use on a computer.
