Question:

How do I disconnect a hardwired smoke/fire alarm?

I have the smoke alarm that can twist off hang from the wires it also has a backup battery. I've tried twisting it off and letting it hang but the green light is still on and continually beeps, does this mean it's disabled? Also, will smoking a cigarette in my house set the alarm off if I'm close to a window?

Answer:

If your skylight is made of glass, not to worry. Glass is not a good conductor of electricity. However, during an electricla storm it is always best to disconnect your computer from the power source in the event of a power overload.
Sibiki rigs? No problem:)
