Question:

how do you change a motorcycle tire?

how do you change a motorcycle tire?

Answer:

Assuming you are talking about a tubeless tire, you can do it with levers, but you would need to lock the wheel in place to do so. it is really not worth trying to do it yourself due to the fact that if is very difficult to get off without the right tools,a dn you stand a good chance of damaging the wheel. Also, you would need to balace it after (it s also possible to build or buy a balancer, but not easy). My dealer charges $20 to mount/balance with the wheel off the bike. This is the way to go unless you will be changing a lot of tires. If so, there is a tire mounter/dismounter that slips into a 2 hitch on a car/truck, and you can buy a bubble balancer also from them.
Maybe find somebody with a factory intake swap 'em ?
With sweat, swearing and skinned knuckles – a lot easier to take the wheel to a specialist.
I get the wheel off the bike and take it down to the M/C shop. They won't take the whole bike, just the wheel. 8^) But if you have to do it yourself, you get a couple of levers. They used to put them in the toolkit but these days you probably have to buy them You let the air out of the tire and slip one of the levers beneath the bead. Then carefully you pry the bead out of the rim. It's a lot trickier in a tube-type tire because if you pinch the tube with one of the levers it will leak later when you put air in the tube. Motorcycles don't get flats very often (luckily). You usually change a tire just when it's worn out. And then you want the new tire balanced, a new stem, etc. etc., so you take it to a shop.
