A down comforter gets my vote hands down! Here's why: Keeps you warm in winter but breathes in summer. Won't cause a fire. Can easily be washed in the washing machine and dried in the dryer and all you need to do to keep in fluffy is wash and dry it with 2 tennis balls. Feathers are not synthetic and don't weigh as much as a quilt. The look of a down comforter on a bed just looks soooo comfy! I've never been cold with a down comforter, have been too hot with an electric blanket and find it hard to get a constant termperature and I've often been cold with just a quilt. So down comforter it is!
electric blanket, can prewarm your bed for you, turn up or down depending on your personal preference.
down comforter (not to heavy) by far. Great us 5o ites who get hot flashes. Great to keep warm otherwise.
