Question:

How long do wired smoke detector batteries last?

It's usually recommended that batteries in smoke detectors should be changed yearly, but no distinction is made between hard-wired and battery-only units. I test our hard-wired detectors monthly - is it necessary to change the backup batteries yearly?

Answer:

No. Firefighters have qualified immunity from suit for mistakes such as this. The person who said that firefighters only come if there is a fire is probably outside the US. It's one of the weird things I've never understood the logic of in the US - 911 sends a fire truck to medical emergency calls. Richard

For instnace, many geldings drop from time to time when they are just relaxed. Changes in manure can occur along with changes in diet. The big indicators are wobbliness and coordination/balance issues.
