I cook them on 350 with a bit of water on the bottom of the pan ver with aluminum foil bake till they fall apart.a couple hours

start with a rolloc fine disc and smooth it out, then wire brush, then polishing compound and elbow greasePolished aluminum looks way better than brushed aluminum.
Why not just take it to a chrome plating shop and have it polishedOr you could by one of those discs with little strips of sandpaper on it and that may give you the effect you are looking forIve never had any luck with a wire wheel on aluminum.
