Question:

How much would a new brake system, sans brake line and plus labor cost on a 2001 Dodge Neon?

The brake pads on a 2001 Dodge Neon were not replaced and caused damage to the brakes. I‘m afraid of getting ripped off, so I‘d like to know which parts of the brake system this would affect, how much they would cost to replace, plus labor.

Answer:

There are many good bikes for beginners. Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki and others make good beginner bikes. But if you are considering riding, for your sake and for everyone else on the road sake, take a class from the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. As far as wearing ear plugs, NO!
Take a motorcycle training course in your area. Learn how to ride correctly, before you purchase a bike. Lots of rider courses have bikes to try. Motorcycles require lots of concentration. Lots more than a car. You will go down on a bike. If you aren't ready to go down on a bike, DO NOT THROW YOUR LEG OVER IT. There are two types of riders those that have gone down, and those that are going down. It is hot and it is cold on a bike, dress for it. And last car drivers, can be jerks. You are invisible on a bike, they do not see you. You are a target, they will seem to be aiming at you. You have to look out for the other guy. Plan an escape plan, where are you going if he does this , or if he does that. Last don't be a jerk on a bike.
As far as I know, the CBR 250 is a fine bike, there are other 250's, the ninja 250/300 is also a sport bike, Honda rebel and Yamaha V star to 50s or cruisers. The sport bikes require you to lean forward, like sitting at three quarters of a push-up for 30 min. or more. It puts a lot of weight on your wrists. Cruisers set up and back like a lounge chair, it is a different STYLE of riding. Many motorcycles require shifting, very few or automatic and usually larger than 250. Many SCOOTERS are automatic, they are more a STANDARD sitting position straight up, arms forward. They are usually slower than bikes but more agile on the street, they also have carrying capacity for books and stuff. I think you may be more comfortable on scooter, look into them. I sometimes wear earphones under my helmet wired to a radio, Bluetooth is available. There are lightweight jackets with armor for safety but many writing T-shirts. How much is your skin worth? Leaning, correctly called counter steering, is misunderstood and badly explained, it is the same leaning as a bicycle at street level riding levels, racers use this but at their level you would consider it triple platinum extreme plus leaning. Car drivers are not jerks, usually, but they are stupid and blind, YOU cannot defend your space, but you can CLAIM it.
call your local autoparts place, ask for pads, rotor and caliper price, then tag on 80 bucks a hour for about 3 hours
