i bought an SD card reader to put my 2gb camera memory card in, i plug it into the computer and it makes the sound like it has found the software, when i go into the cameras and faxers and click on the polaroid camera to download the pictures off it, it says the device is not plugged in correct. i have tried pluggin it in every plug it fits, and it still pops up the same thing sayin to make sure it is plugged in. anyone know how to get it to work??

It sounds like you are trying to use the camera instead of the card reader. Assuming you are using Windows, double click on MY COMPUTER and you should see a new drive-letter for the card reader. Then double click on that drive and just drill on down to the pictures. Set the VIEW option to THUMBNAILS for easy navigation. You can then copy the pictures from there to whichever folder you want to store them. Addendum: The answer from Colanth says it best: take the card out of the camera and put it in the card reader.
was there any software that came with the computer for that port like drivers? If there is then try installing that and try again. Or, if there is a window that pops up when you put the sd card in that has the option, Open folder to view files, click on that and see if it lets you access it.
Take the card out of the camera and put it into the card reader (which is why you bought a card reader). Then open explorer (My Computer in XP, Computer in Vista) and look for the new drive that should appear. That;s your SD card.
