Question:

how to preform good oral presentation?

i have an english oral to preform in 2 days time and i want to do a good jobi am a pretty shy personso any suggestions on ways to prevent getting nervous or messing up my lines?

Answer:

Practice practice practice... stand in front of a mirror, perform in front of your family. A big fear of public speaking is messing up and being embarrassed. But if you know your topic inside-out it will give you a very large comfort zone. The whole imagine your audience in underwear is very bad advice because it takes your focus off of the real issue... trust me, the longer people try to make a quick fix the worse they do when it comes time to perform. Just know your topic and relax... keep your eyes on the audience and your voice volume high enough for people in the back. A strong voice shows that you're confident with yourself. Relax, you'll do fine : )
to prevent from messing up your lines you better practice your report.prepare everything you need. you may want to practice your oral report in front of the mirror. concentrate on your report. dont mind the people around you. nothing to worry about if you are already familiar with your report and you are prepared enough for your report. good luck.... don't forget to pray. i think thats the best thing you could do before you start your report.
It was the year 2005....he did the oral presentation over and over again until my ears were literally ringing ;)
I take apologetics... so I have to do speeches ALL THE TIME. :) Here are a few tips that were helpful to me: 1. Speak loud and clear. Make sure your projection and noise-level is good, and don't mumble. 2. Make eye contact. This one is VERY important. Look around the room, try to make eye contact with a certain person for a few seconds, then move on to another person. This makes it a little less awkward. 3. Make sure to memorize your oral presentation as well as you can. This makes it easier to make eye contact and not stare at your paper the whole time. :) 4. Make hand gestures and move around a little. Try not to be too tense. Another good thing that helps me is by practicing in front of a mirror, so you could see how you look to other people. This could help you realize certain habits you may have, and may even help you out with eye contact and memorization (if you don't look at your paper too much). :) Good luck!
