How to remove sticky rubber from my helmet?

Someone happened to keep a stack of wet latex sheets on my helmet and I have a fine irregular layer of sticky rubber on my helmet. What is the best method to get rid of it from my helmet? Live in India and many commercial goo removal products available in the US or other countries may not be available here.
