could someone give me some pointers as to how to change the front transmission seal?
you have to drop the transmission for a job like that. after you get it out then pull the torque converter out and you will see the seal. take a thin screwdriver and pry the old seal out but watch you don,t scrape the pump where the seal goes in. oil up the new seal and start it in the pump the way the old 1 came out and tap around the seal until it,s seated all the way into the pump. now when you go to put the torque converter back in make sure it,s all the way back in or you will tear the pump out when you first hit the switch.

Remove the transmission Remove the Torque converter Pull/Drive out the front main seal and rear main seal with a flat head screwdriver Press the new seals on When installing the torque converter back onto the transmission, mount the torque converter onto the input shaft, turn the torque converter clockwise while at the same pushing the torque converter onto the transmission until you hear it click. Keep turning it until you hear 2 more clicks for a total of 3 clicks. If you do not follow this particular step, your car will not function properly. The rest of the installation is in the reverse order of removal.
