Question:

i dont like the smaller fuel cells?

i dont like the smaller fuel cells that nascar uses at some tracks. i go to and watch races to watch the cars race each other, not to see the race turn into the fastest pit stops, i want to see more racing on the track, also if nascar is so worried about the people that race, or pit WHY HAVE MORE PIT STOPS, someday some pit crew member is going to get hurt bad or maybe God forbid something worst, because they had to make 2 or 3 more pit stops than they would have had they a bigger fuel cell, what will nascar do then, ok on lap 40 all the even number cars will pit, and on lap 41 all the odd number cars will pit, Will they say sorry we didnt think that would happen., dont think so

Answer:

Well it don't work, and I can PROVE IT. AAA tested it and it don't work, but you don't want to hear that so. They way they get the better fuel mileage is to lean out the fuel air mix, to the point where it will damage your valves or pistons. As a mechanic you should know what that will do to an engine. So you save a few dollars on fuel but get the fun of rebuilding an engine. As far as flash back use what they use on torches, you can get them at most auto supply shops. BTW if you are ASE certified for engines you should already know what it's going to do to sensors/computer. Your sensors are going to see low oxygen levels in your exhaust your computer will lean out the fuel to bring the oxygen levels to normal, if it can't do that it will go into default mode and turn on the CEL. While in default mode it will burn more fuel, you will lose power so now you have a car that will not pass the emission test, in most states if the CEL is on you fail no matter what, and it runs worse and uses more fuel. EDIT If this worked as claimed why don't we see them on RACE cars. Think about it to get X% more fuel mileage they would have to increase the output of the engine by X%. So for a hundred dollars or so I'd get big boost in HP. I say race cars now because so many people believe that the auto companies are in bed with big oil. While people who are out to increase the speed and power of their cars clearly are not. Do you think that if a simple device like this would do as it's claimed every street rod in the world would have one. Don't let logic stand in the way of a good con.
You should write your Congressman because Nascar isn`t going to listen .
I agree. All the pit stops with the small fuel cells makes it a 25 lap shootout all the time. Run 25 laps, stop, fuel up, run another 25 laps. Guys that are good on long runs don't stand much of a chance. I wonder if Goodyear talked Nascar into the smaller fuel cells. It would make sense.
The smaller fuel cell affects pits stops only during long green flag runs. Due to the varying fuel mileage and pit strategies this isn't a real problem because the green flag stops are staggered over about 3-5 laps. The problem you are describing happens during yellow flag pit stops when they all come in at the same time causing the dangerous situations. The smaller fuel cell doesn't matter at that time. They are all going to come in and make adjustments anyway so they are going to top off the tank regardless of the size of the fuel cell.
If you schedule pit stops on particular laps, you basically eliminate competition and dictate what and when the drivers have to do. How is that racing? Go JR.
