Question:

I have a serious wobble in my motorcycle when I slowing down without brakes.?

It just started this weekend. I have been riding in the mountains and when I began coasting down the hills, my bike would begin to wobble. It only seems to do this when I am using the back brake slightly or when I am coasting without holding the clutch in. I also see that the back wheel has no wheel weight on it and wonder if thats the problem. Help me out.

Answer:

When they get streaky you can try and use isopropyl alcohol and clean the silicates and dirt off them, that helps sometimes. If they still streak, replace them. The Michelin blades are awesome for longevity and price vs performance. You can get them at W-mart.
I usually change them once a year right before winter. Just because cold weather destroys wipers that have become dry and brittle over the summer. I buy the cheepies though.
Place the bike on a stand, center-stand if applicable. Check - for any loose spokes, side-play from axle to rim, loose axle nuts, proper alignment of rear wheel to frame and - you didn't mention how old the tires were!? If they are more than five years old and subjected to ups downs in usage and weather, they may be out of whack also. The balance weights loss would only effect forward movement, the wobble is something else.
About 80% of wobble issues, are caused by a tire problem. Mostly under inflated, or worn out tires. An unbalanced wheel, will cause your tire to ware out quickly. An unbalanced wheel will vibrate and feel wobbly all the time, not just when slowing down, or just using the back brake. When slowing down you transfer, more weight to the front tire. That would make a wobble of the front tire, more noticeable.
Check the things the others are suggesting also check your tire for tread separation. It usually is worse at lower speeds. Yes unbalanced tire could cause that along with a loose bearing or spokes. You need to get everything tight and true.
