I have a VW new beetle and i've hit underneath my car a few times already, one was really hard, will anything major happen? I'm scared since VW parts are expensive, one was i was going to fast and i went over this huge pot hole and another was a speed bump. Thanks a bunch
One thing you should be extremely cautious about - eye protection. Just wearing glasses or a half helmet with a face shield - one little speck of dust can blind you in your good eye. Even if it's for a second or two, it can take up to ten seconds to get your full vision back. In that time your vision will be blurred (I'm sure this has happened driving a car). Taking one hand off the handlebars while fidgeting to clear your eye, will lower your ability to control your bike. Either wear air tight goggles or a full face helmet. As for balance and control - you should be just fine.
I would look at the hinges on the back of the case- can you unscrew them, or take the pin that holds it together out? If you can, you can probably open it from the back. If that won't work, maybe a locksmith could help. Skeleton key locks are not very complicated, you might be able to pick it yourself- use a very stiff wire, bend a hook on the end and try turning it in the lock. Or an old time hardware store or second hand store might have a key that would work? Skeleton keys used to be very common, I was able to buy one for my upstairs doors but that was 20 years ago. Good luck!
Harder with one eye than two, but after riding a while you'll get acustomed to the lack of depth perception your partial blindness causes.
You might want to get a motorcycle that doesn't have a full fairing. I had a Kawasaki police motorcycle, and the fairing obstructed my view of the road. If my vision were already compromised, I'd rather have the fullest view of the road possible.
