The best way to make it look professional is to make the surface flat with a sharp tool and after to polish with a 400 or 500 revolutions motor tool. If you add any resins will be not nice at all. Better go to a professional to do this, they use very special tools you'll pay some money but the result will be good, but if they will use resins, run away from there!!!
