If you‘re riding in 5th or 6th at high speeds and you let off the throttle completely, letting the speed of the bike drop without braking/holding in the clutch;-Will the bike even stall out, or will it drop to a certain speed and maintain it with no throttle?-Given that you don‘t pull the clutch in, will the rear tire lock up if the bike stalls while in gear?
One 5th and 6th gear, the bike will stall. The rear wheel will stop turning and eventually lock. You can do this on first gear, which I do every now and them to practice for slow race. You can let go a the clutch and bike will chug along nicely until you brake. Then you have to pull the clutch lever.
It will vary due to the type of bike and the road. The first one, where the bike is off throttle, most bikes will not be able to maintain any headway at idle, though some high torque engines (such as big V-twins) may be able to idle along. A down-hill grade would allow almost any bike to idle along in top gear. If the engine does stall, the bike will certainly come to a quick stop, though the tire may not break traction. If you have a slipper clutch, it won't lock up. All in all, this is a good way to dump your bike. Why the question?
Not in the higher gears, it will just slow down.
