I may be wrong with it's name as I don't know what it called exactly. I read this before so many years. In this u can take an empty glass bottle / tank / bulb / anything which is transperant and in which u can grow small plants of 4-7 inches. If your'e talking about a terrarium, you just need to decide how you want to set it (if it doesn't have a bottom) and put enough dirt in the bottom for the plants to grow. Many things may outgrow your terrarium in time but hopefully you can remove them before they take over. The size of the plants is determined by the size of the container. You can check out the different types of house plants available, which may work, well at most home and garden centers or a local nursery. You will probably want to get the smallest size available so that you can watch it grow. And you may be able to find a friend willing to give you small starts off of their houseplants.
