Question:

Is it dangerous to burn pallet wood in your wood burner?

As in....we have a wood burner in our home....my husband has broken up pallets and we have been burning them in the woodburner.....but sometimes it burns sooooo hot and smells....we can't put much in at a time. Just wondering if they (pallets) are treated with anything. My hubby says no.....but I just want to know for sure!

Answer:

A pallet of St. Augustine 'Floritam' will cost you $150 plus tax plus a $5 pallet deposit. It covers 500 sq. ft. Contact the Bushel Stop or Nu Turf for directions and prices in your area. Both will charge about $65 for a delivery fee also.

You buy sod by the square foot. But to answer your question they can fit about 600 sq. ft. on a pallet. So, at roughly .40/sq ft. x 600 sq. ft.= $240 +taxes and delivery charges.
