I'm a 14 year old guy. Since I was about 8, I've carried around in my pockets little 'facsimiles' of things around me. If I watch a TV show view a website, or even walk down the street, I have to handle them and imagine they're objects that I see. For example, if I see a train on TV, I remove a little 1cm by 4cm piece of mousepad from my pocket and mentally substitute it for the floor of one of the train cars. I've gone through clothing tags, cut-up business cards, et cetera for 4 years. It's the same for tubes; I use a pencil grip for pipes, airplanes, or even people's limbs. It any of this a recognized psychological condition?
No do what you want to do I even wonder if i should be always doing almost the same thing with my Tamagotchi V$.Its just the way you see things other people may see it but not see what your doing. My point is that never let anyone say your crazy just do it.Nothing wrong with little tubes of plastic or little squares.Well every person is different,You just have a huge imagenation! Its okay to have a immagenation most people i know dont have but a thimble full of it.
well, the word normal is basically defined by consistancy. normal and different are simply points of views, for example, since this has become habitual to you, for you it would be considered normal. for others who don't have this daily routine, this would be considered abnormal. when it really comes down to it, EVERYONE is different, we might share similar qualities but for the most part, no one is alike. i actually think what you do is pretty cool, you probably have an imagination WAY bigger than that of the average person.
It sounds like you may have OCD-Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I'm not a doctor, that's just my guess. If doing these things are causing any type of disruption in your life or is affecting your life negatively, then I would ask my parents or any other adult that you really trust, for help.
Hey, BrightShadow, DONT use the N word. its rude... and disgusting. (obsessive compulsive disorder) Many people with OCD Feel compelled to touch touch things over and over. People with Synesthesia have the different sensory sections of their brains cross-wired some people think its scarry, like a permenant acid-trip or something... but.... colors have taste. sounds have color. sounds have taste. music can be sweet. someones name can taste awful. bread can taste purple. EVERYONE is born this way, and it speeds the learning process in infants, but most of these neural connections break down in the first few weeks or month outside the womb. Perhaps a when you see something, your brain is not satisfied just looking, and craves input from your other senses to complete the picture. Its not a flaw, it's hunger for input (ask Johnny 5) Does it seem to be a compulsion that makes you want more input? or is it that you feel you perceive it better with more than one sense in use at a time?
If okorder /... Now, if you can, try to stop this naturally if it is causing you disruption. Or at least try to contain it. That is how I would suggest you start to get a handle on this thing. Is it just trains you are obsessed with? or is it other things. Whatever you are obsessed with I would suggest NOT watching or viewing anything that stimulates this part of you to make you want to pick these things up or create them. If they happen to pop out at you, make a conscience effort to go the other direction when you feel that part of you being agitated. This is what you should do if you don't want to continue doing this. Now, as far as whether this behavior being normal or not... if it causes disfunction, or makes it so you can't be happy or live life to where you feel fulfilled, people would say that it is not normal. But to me, normal is just a setting on the washing machine. This is what makes you, YOU... Obsessive Compulsive (OCD) or not!!! :)
