Question:

Is it possible to light an LED with a homemade hydrogen fuel cell?

Basically I know you can get a small current by making a hydrogen fuel cell with a glass jar filled with water, and some coils of wire. Of course its a tiny bit more complex then that, but you get the idea. I was wondering if you could create enough electricity to light a single LED light bulb with one of these tiny fuel cells?

Answer:

A proper made hydrogen fuel cell has 0.7V . One single cell could not light up a WHITE LED that requires at least 3V.
