Speed bumps hit the plan with opposition:
spinning reel? baitcasting reel? MH/H/L rods? Get something in the 8-12lb test area. for all. ideally, you would have several kinds of setups for several kinds of applications. (flipping, crankbaits, worming, dropshotting, etc, etc if you ever watch any of the bassmasters or flw's, the boys bring at least 10 setups.
Any time you space the wheels outward wheel bearing load increases. In stock suspension form if you were to draw a line through the upper and lower ball joint the line would fall directly in the center of the tire tread as it meets the road. When you space the wheels out or install wheels with the incorrect off-set the suspension geometry has been destroyed. It's your truck, do as you see fit. The wheel hub studs would be too short anyway.
dude! your tree limb analogy is good but the question was about 1/4 spacers not 2 1/2 spacers. the negative offset of the wheel is where the answer lies.
